I've been in a DIY obsession mode lately. Pinterest is the most amazing and addictive site ever!! I don't get a ton of time off with my schedule, but when I do, I seem to find myself spending much of that time doing "projects" (much to the husbands dismay). I've been wanting to do a sunburst mirror for a while, but I couldn't find a good inspiration piece. Finally found this one and thought I'd give it a shot!
Materials:
8 packs of 12" cedar wood shims (can buy at any Home Depot or Lowes)
Wood glue (hot glue gun works too!)
Round mirror ($5 at Michael's)
Round wood for the back to hold it all together
Stain
Total material costs:
$40
Follow the instructions on Crazy Wonderful blog and be ready to brag to all of your friends about your handmade mirror!!
It took me almost a half-day to complete the project, but I'm still new at this! I also ran out of shims and glue, so I had to go back to the store! Here is my final product (not the greatest picture, but it's all I've got!)
